Haris

Something broken at home? Send your manager a WhatsApp, the way you already do

If your property manager or landlord uses Haris, you get a reply straight away. It asks a couple of questions, gives you a ticket number and sends visit times you confirm with one tap. There's nothing to download and nothing to sign up for.

Example: the tenant at 14 Elm Grove, Leeds

  1. WhatsApp

    Northgate repairs

It's ticket #142. Northgate will send you a time for the engineer here.

  2. WhatsApp

    Northgate repairs

I've logged this as an urgent repair: no heating or hot water, fault F28. Is that right?

Message the WhatsApp number you already use for repairs, and answer two or three questions

  1. Send a message, a voice note, a photo or a call to the WhatsApp number your manager or landlord gave you. Write in whichever language you're most comfortable with, and the reply comes back in it.

  2. Answer the questions. They're the ones an engineer would ask, so the right person comes with the right parts.

  3. Check the summary and tap Yes, that's right. You get a ticket number, and any later message about the same repair goes onto that ticket.

  4. Confirm a visit time with the Confirm button, or tap Pick another time.

  5. Tell us if it's fixed. After the visit you're asked Yes or Not yet, then for a rating from 1 to 5.

Northgate repairsOn the tenant's phone, 14 Elm Grove Example
  1. Tenant, 19:12: Transcript: Hi, the boiler's showing F28 and there's no heating or hot water. We've got two kids here.
  2. Haris agent, 19:12: Sorry to hear that. Two quick questions so the engineer comes prepared: what does the pressure gauge on the front of the boiler read? And is it no heating and no hot water, or just one of them?
  3. Tenant, 19:14: Photo: Boiler display showing F28
  4. Tenant, 19:14: Gauge says about 0.6. Neither works.
  5. Haris agent, 19:15: Thanks. I've logged this for Northgate as an urgent repair: no heating or hot water, fault F28, pressure 0.6 bar. Is that right?
  6. Tenant, 19:15: Yes, that's right
  7. Haris agent, 19:16: It's ticket #142. Northgate will send you a time for the engineer here. If you ever smell gas, leave the house and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999.
  8. Tenant, 22:47: The boiler's showing F28 again, no heating
  9. Haris agent, 22:47: Thanks, I've added that to #142. An engineer has offered Thursday 09:00–11:00 and Northgate will confirm it in the morning.

In an emergency, get safe first, then message

The agent gives you this advice straight away when you describe one of these, and marks the repair as an emergency with a 4-hour clock. If anyone is in danger, call 999.

You smell gas
Leave the home, don't use light switches or flames, and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999.
Sparks, scorching or a burning smell
Don't touch the socket or appliance. If it's safe to reach, switch off at the fuse box.
Water near sockets, lights or the fuse box
Keep away from the water. If it's safe, switch off at the fuse box and turn off the water at the stopcock.
No heating in winter
Message straight away. It's treated as an emergency, with a 4-hour clock on your manager's side.

The questions depend on what's broken, so the engineer arrives knowing the fault

These are examples. The agent asks one or two at a time and stops when it has enough.

Heating and boilers
“What does the pressure gauge on the boiler read?”
“Is there a fault code on the display?”
“Do you have hot water but no heating, or neither?”
Air conditioning
“Is there no air at all, or is it blowing warm air?”
“Is the outdoor unit running?”
“Is there an error code on the display?”
Electrics
“Has a breaker tripped in the fuse box?”
“Is it one socket, one room or the whole home?”
Leaks
“Where is the water coming from, and is it still running?”
“Is any water near sockets, lights or the fuse box?”

You don't need an account, and your manager's team sees every message

Do I need to download an app?
No. Everything happens in WhatsApp: your messages, the questions, the visit times and the rating at the end.
Am I talking to a person?
Haris's AI agent answers you straight away. Your manager's team reads the whole conversation on the ticket and can reply to you from there.
Can I send a voice note or call?
Yes. Voice notes and calls are transcribed onto the ticket, and photos help the engineer see the problem before they arrive.
How do I find the right number?
Use the WhatsApp number your manager or landlord gave you for repairs. If you're not sure whether they use Haris, ask them.
